Challenges in Adolescence

During high school, various concerns might arise, and extra support can be beneficial. It might be difficult to communicate and understand what is going on with your teen. Sometimes, it might feel like you’re unable to get through to them. Your teen might be concerned about what they want to be doing afterwards or feel overwhelmed with trying to find answers to their success. Procrastination and anxiety might add to the weight of academic stress and self-esteem. It’s a strange period of growing up that can make one question who they are, what they want, and what they might need.

Where Therapy Fits in

Some teens might communicate more freely with their parents, but in many cases they might want to speak to someone who is not involved in their family. With guidance from a licensed, experienced therapist, therapy services can assist parents and teens to address issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, academic issues, identity development, and goal/aspiration setting.

I offer a compassionate, supportive space for young people to work through challenges they may face during this stage of development. I aim to build trust and comfort by working collaboratively with teens to help them utilize healthy coping skills, increase emotional resilience, and foster a positive self-view. I provide a safe, judgement-free environment to explore personal challenges and develop greater self-awareness. My goal is to help teens thrive by providing the tools they need to face challenges and access their potential.
